About the Centurion Scholarship Fund
2006 marks the 100th anniversary of Fairhaven High School, a glorious witness to our town's proud history. To celebrate the school's century milestone, and honor the contribution of Henry Huttleston Rogers, the Class of 1956 has established the Fairhaven High School Centurion Scholarship Fund as a gift for future generations of Fairhaven High School graduates. The committee has decided to conduct an annual fundraising drive until we reach our goal of $100,000.
The Honorary Chairman of the Fund is Gil Santos, the Voice of the New England Patriots, FHS '56.

Amount Raised to Date
As of October 31, 2006, through contributions and fundraising events we have raised $36,440. We also maintain an operating fund for administrative expenses. That fund currently has a balance of $2,182.
Recipient
2006 Jennifer Escolas, who graduated 10th of a class of 167 this June, is our first recipient. She has been a member of the Drama Club, the Chorus, The Marching and Concert Band, the French Club, and the Poetry Club. Jennifer's honors include being a member of the National Honor Roll and Robbie Thatcher Poetry Contest honorable mention. She also participated in the Spotlight Program at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. We are delighted to make this award to such an accomplished and hard-working student, and wish her well at college.
Fundraising Events
On June 26th, as part of the Centennial celebration, we sponsored a special event - a highly successful golf tournament at The Country Club of New Bedford followed by a Silent Auction and the Awards Banquet. You can click on the "Events" link at the top to see the details of the day, including some wonderful pictures. Next year's event is in the works.
